Orange County-Volunteer Engagement Fellow, AmeriCorps VIP

The Volunteer Infrastructure Project (VIP) inspires community volunteerism, connecting community members with their neighbors in need. VIP Fellows are AmeriCorps members who lead “behind the scenes” in existing schools and nonprofits (Partner Sites) to build sustainable volunteer programs. Fellows do this through: 1) building systems to track, support, manage, and train volunteers; 2) recruiting one-time and skills-based volunteers; and 3) raising funds to support the volunteer program. Past Partner Sites in our community have included Community Action Partnership of Orange County, Tustin Unified School District, Blind Children's Learning Center and Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson . VIP Members are a part of a statewide network of 120 Fellows, and are placed in small community cohorts who meet regularly for collaboration and training. Fellows spend the majority of their time at their Partner Site collaborating with professional staff to build systems of volunteer management. VIP Members also spend time in the community, building partnerships and connecting community members with service opportunities. This position is a valuable opportunity to develop and apply leadership and community organizing skills and to make a lasting difference. During the service year, VIP Members earn a Volunteer Management Certificate while building skills in volunteer engagement. Extensive training in nonprofit professional skills and career development is also offered. The VIP program in this region is managed by OneOC. OneOC’s mission is “accelerating nonprofit success.” OneOC provides various volunteer, training, consulting and fiscal sponsorship services for nonprofits to help them become as efficient and effective as they are passionate about their missions. VIP Members lead volunteers and inspire communities to support impactful service efforts through meaningful service programs that change lives. Come join us, and make an impact this year!
