AmeriCorps VIP: United Way Monterey County
 
 
 
VIP Fellows will be placed at established community nonprofit and educational organizations providing services to our community’s children and families. This position is responsible for improving the capacity of the placement site to attract and utilize high value (skilled and corporate) volunteers in order to increase services to the community. Over the course of the 1700-hour term, each VIP Fellow will recruit, train, and retain about 50 volunteers; build business partnerships for financial and volunteer support of service activities; and build capacity within the Partner Site volunteer program to provide the support, skills and resources volunteers need to be successful. As a VIP Fellow, you will be part of a team serving in different agencies throughout our community. United Way Monterey County is currently a placement site for the 2015-2016 service year. UWMC is seeking a VIP Fellow that will provide program support for the following: The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, Volunteer Center database capacity building, and corporate volunteer engagement. VIP candidates should have interest or experience in working with underserved populations, financial counseling, and volunteer stewardship. Members will gain valuable experience in program administration, grants management, and database management. Specific Duties: VIP members will recruit, train, and retain volunteer tax preparers, maintain regular presence at tax sites, and assist with program administration for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance. Members will also assist with recruitment of corporate volunteer partners, and volunteer financial counselors for collaborative programs. Other duties would include database management for the Volunteer Center, and assist with the creation of collective impact volunteer engagement opportunities.
